(full name: Hans Carl August Friedrich Bredow, * November 26, 1879 in Schlawe, Pomerania; † January 9, 1959 in Wiesbaden) was a German high-frequency engineer.

He was chairman of the board of directors of the Reichs-Rundfunk-Gesellschaft (RRG) and is considered one of the founders of German marine and international radio, German radio and German television broadcasting. He coined the term broadcasting in 1919 and used it publicly for the first time two years later.

For a short time in 1945, he served as Chief President of the Prussian province of Nassau.
